Roy Anderson, III

Leader & Ally
Roy Anderson III has exemplified leadership in his profession as he has helped shape the Southeastern construction industry for more than 40 years. He is widely recognized for his business ethics, philanthropic contributions, and commitment to excellence and innovation in the construction industry. A respected industry leader and trusted ally to many, Roy currently serves as Chairman and CEO of AnderCorp, the company he founded with his son, Roy Anderson IV.
Professional Background
Roy previously served as President and CEO of a leading regional construction firm and Chairman of a multi-company construction organization comprised of several operating construction companies across the Southeastern United States. Roy began his career in 1982, working within his family’s construction business and helping grow it into a recognized industry leader throughout Mississippi and the Southeastern United States. Over the course of 35 years, Roy provided executive oversight for more than $7 billion in major construction projects spanning hospitality, gaming, healthcare, prisons, office and mixed-use developments, sports facilities, student dormitories, disaster recovery, and federal work. He played an integral role in the growth of the regional gaming industry, constructing over 3 million square feet in hospitality and gaming facilities. The organization was later acquired by a publicly traded construction company in 2011, and Roy continued serving as CEO until his resignation in December 2017.
Accolades & Accomplishments
Roy is a graduate of the University of Alabama and the University of Mississippi School of Law, where he was elected Vice President of his law class. Throughout his career, he has held numerous leadership roles within the construction industry, including serving as President of the Mississippi Chapter of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) and as a National AGC Board Member. His professional honors include Leadership Gulf Coast graduate; recognition as a Magnolia Tribune Top Business Person; Mississippi Business Journal Mississippi Top 50, Top CEO Awards of Mississippi, and Top 40 Under 40 honoree; the Boy Scouts Pine Burr Council Distinguished Citizen Award; Top 10 Outstanding Community Leaders; and Industry Person of the Year by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Mississippi. Roy is a former equity holder and board member of the American Contractors Insurance Group (ACIG) in Dallas, Texas, Vice President and Charter Trustee of the AGC Self-Insured Workers’ Compensation Fund, and a former member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO). He has been a featured speaker at numerous national gaming, hospitality, and construction industry symposiums, including AGC conferences and the Partnering Symposium for the Regional U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Convention.
Leadership & Service
Roy currently serves on the executive committee of the Gulf Coast Business Council and the board of directors of the Memorial Hospital Gulfport Foundation. His extensive leadership experience includes serving as Chairman of the Gulf Coast Renaissance Corporation and holding board and advisory positions with the Mississippi Aquarium Foundation, Merchants Bank & Trust Company, Whitney National Bank of Mississippi, the American Heart Association, and Mississippi Power Company. Roy also served two terms as President of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Resort Classic, a PGA Champions Tour event, and two terms as President of Westminster Academy. He has remained actively involved in numerous local and statewide charitable organizations, including the American Heart Association, where he served as Gulf Coast Heart Walk Chair in 2016 and was recognized as the organization's 2018 Gulf Coast Honoree.

As the Executive Vice President of AnderCorp, Roy Anderson, IV is a pivotal figure in the company’s leadership, managing client development, account management, new project pursuits, and the overarching management of AnderCorp. Roy is committed to fostering a culture of excellence within AnderCorp, a culture that aligns with the core values that both the associates and customers can be proud to be apart of. His leadership philosophy centers around empowering associates to achieve their best while treating each project with the same care and dedication as if it were their own. This approach creates an environment where strong performance, ethical conduct, and superior customer service are consistently rewarded, all while maintaining a work environment that is both challenging and enjoyable. In addition to his executive responsibilities, Roy directly oversees AnderCorp’s Safety and Quality Control departments, ensuring that the well-being of employees and the delivery of high-quality projects remain top priorities.
Roy’s deep-rooted connection to the construction industry began at an early age, having grown up in a family with a rich legacy in the field. His grandfather, Roy Anderson, Jr., founded Roy Anderson Corp (RAC), and Roy IV spent his formative years surrounded by the industry. After earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Managerial Finance from the University of Mississippi, he chose to follow in his family’s footsteps by pursuing a career in construction. During his nine-year tenure at RAC, Roy gained invaluable experience working on significant construction projects in major cities such as Birmingham, New Orleans, New York, and Gulfport.
His hands-on experience in project management provided him with a unique perspective on the critical importance of team building and cultivating strong customer relationships. Roy believes that a company’s culture and commitment can significantly impact a project’s performance and ultimate success—from preconstruction to the grand opening.
Beyond his role at AnderCorp, Roy is actively involved in the broader construction industry. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Mississippi Associated General Contractors, contributing his expertise to the development of the industry at large. His professional achievements have been recognized with several honors, including his graduation from Leadership Gulf Coast and being named one of the “Top 50 Emerging Leaders” by the Mississippi Business Journal.

With a hands-on approach to the successful procurement and construction of over 250 major projects, his background spans all major project delivery methods and contract types, with experience across federal, state, local, and private-sector work. Ben plays a key role in advancing strategic initiatives, developing leadership, and ensuring client satisfaction across the organization.
Ben holds an Associate of Arts from Holmes Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering and Management from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Matt Herbert serves as Vice President & Division Manager of AnderCorp's Huntsville office, bringing more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry and over a decade of experience in the Huntsville market, where he has played a key role in growing commercial construction operations throughout the region. In this role, he provides leadership and oversight for the company's operations, business development, and strategic growth across North Alabama.
With extensive experience in commercial, industrial, institutional, and nuclear power generation projects, Matt has developed a strong background in field management, project management, estimating, and scheduling. Known for his commitment to quality and execution, he leverages his diverse construction expertise to strengthen AnderCorp's presence in the region and deliver successful outcomes for clients.
Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering Technology from the University of Southern Mississippi and earned an advanced certification in Primavera scheduling software. He is an active member of the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce and the North Alabama chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors.

Heath holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tennessee and contributes to the advancement of the profession through his services as a Board Member of the Mississippi State Board of Architecture. He is currently enrolled in the Gulf Coast Business Council’s Master’s Leadership and its Executive Leadership Academy.

Hunter Lipscomb serves as Vice President of Strategy and Development at AnderCorp, supporting enterprise growth strategy, major market pursuits, and long-range business planning across the company’s construction, economic development, and government services operations. He works alongside senior leadership to evaluate new markets, support multi-state expansion efforts, and align strategic priorities with large-scale industrial, federal, and public-private development opportunities.
Hunter contributes to complex pursuits and emerging business lines, including real estate development, program-level construction management, infrastructure initiatives, and industrial and manufacturing projects. His work includes coordinating pursuit teams, evaluating delivery and partnership models, and helping shape project development strategies that support both public infrastructure investment and private-sector development. He also supports corporate communications and community engagement efforts to maintain alignment between company strategy, operations, client relationships, and market positioning.
Hunter holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from Mississippi State University, a Master of Business Administration from Mississippi State University, and a Master of Economic Development from the University of Southern Mississippi. He currently serves as an officer in the Mississippi Air National Guard and is a veteran of Operation Inherent Resolve.

Rob’s expertise includes contract administration, scheduling, procurement, and coordination, with a strong background in both hard-bid government and Design-Build projects. He has completed numerous projects for the federal government, including COE, NAVFAC, DOW, and the Bureau of Prisons.
Rob holds a Bachelor of Science in Building Science from Auburn University and maintains Construction Quality Management for Contractors certification.

His diverse background as a developer, owner’s representative, and contractor allows him to tailor project strategies to meet each client’s unique goals.
Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from the University of Louisiana-Monroe. He remains deeply involved in his community and industry organizations, including Leadership Gulf Coast, Leadership Hancock County, the Gulf Coast Business Council Master’s Leadership Program, and the Mississippi Associated Builders and Contractors chapter.
