The Mississippi Department of Transportation’s (MDOT) new Jackson County Welcome Center will serve as a modern gateway for travelers entering Mississippi along Interstate 10. Constructed by AnderCorp in partnership with TL Wallace Construction, the 15,000-square-foot facility will replace the existing welcome center with an updated space designed to enhance the visitor experience while showcasing the state’s natural beauty and heritage.
Designed by EGH Architects, the building incorporates heavy timber construction and expansive glazing inspired by Mississippi’s rich forestry industry, creating a welcoming environment that connects visitors to the surrounding landscape. The project reflects a commitment to providing a functional, durable, and architecturally distinctive destination for travelers visiting the Magnolia State.
