Highlights

The project includes the renovation, restoration, adaptive re-use, and addition to the historic Melton Hardware Co. building in Meridian, MS. From past to present, the Melton building constructed in 1925 was completely restored bringing a new flavor while capturing and preserving the historic character of the 1920s. The project includes new construction of 2,000 SF, renovation of 25,000 SF of space, and the construction of exterior courtyards. The existing structure consists of masonry-bearing wall construction with heavy timber infill. The new construction includes steel with a mixture of metal and glass cladding. The Owner and project team worked closely to pursue and secure federal historic tax credits for the rehabilitation throughout the duration of design and construction. This was a state-of-the-art transformation into a high-class Headquarters for Castle.
