Highlights
Construction of the new School of Nursing at the University of Mississippi Medical Center includes the development of a three-story building featuring classrooms, administrative offices, and an auditorium. The project involves both the demolition of an existing building to make way for the new structure and the complete renovation of another to accommodate additional classroom and office space.
The state-of-the-art School of Nursing facility will consolidate all nursing spaces on campus into a comprehensive 106,000 SF complex, which includes 78,000 SF of new construction and 28,000 SF in the fully renovated original URC building. The refurbished URC, along with the new addition, will encircle a 16,000 SF courtyard for student activities and outdoor events. The one-story URC will house modern clinical simulation and skills laboratories. This innovative, student-centric complex is designed to enhance engagement, student-focused assessment, and team-based learning, supporting UMMC’s School of Nursing in achieving an increase in enrollment.
